At Balikaru, we pride ourselves on individuality, authenticity, and the responsibility we take for Bali, its people, and our guests. All our tours and experiences are conducted in small groups of up to 8 or 12 people or entirely privately and exclusively. Every booked tour runs even with just one participant. You’ll experience Bali, our village, and its people in an unfiltered way—here, life is authentic, traditions and culture are an integral part of everyday life, and life flows with Balinese warmth, openness, and a good dose of humility and serenity. By choosing Balikaru, you support the local community, as our team is drawn from the village and nearby areas. We contribute to local infrastructure, such as maintaining the water supply, supporting the traditional Subak rice farming system, and preserving traditional crafts.

We offer our experiences in multiple languages. Standard tours are available in English and Indonesian. Additionally, we can provide a licensed and qualified guide who speaks German, French, Italian, Spanish, or Japanese for any tour or experience, making our Bali tours available in seven languages.

All tours booked with a transfer option at Balikaru automatically include our VIP Transfer service. This means you can relax and enjoy your experience with Balikaru from the very first minute. Your VIP Transfer will pick you up at your accommodation at the agreed time and bring you directly to us, without detours or stops to pick up other travellers. At the end of your tour, you’ll be taken directly back to your accommodation. We take care of the timing and the fastest route. All vehicles are maintained and insured, and our drivers are licensed and trained.

We recommend our programs for children aged 6 and above. Our experiences are designed to be engaging and educational for younger visitors, but due to the nature of some activities, we believe they are best suited for children who are at least 6 years old.

Due to the location of our activities in a mountain village, which requires walking on local paths and trails, our tours are unfortunately not suitable for individuals with mobility impairments. The local terrain is not equipped for those with physical disabilities, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Our tours are excellent for vegetarians. We can accommodate vegetarian preferences in our cooking classes and lunch; please inform us at least 24 hours before your tour. Our snacks during the blessing ceremony and trekking are also suitable for vegans. However, some traditional components in our dishes may not be entirely vegan. We appreciate your understanding that complete vegan suitability may not always be guaranteed.

Our cancellation policy is as follows:

• Up to 1 day before the scheduled service: No cancellation fees apply.
• 1 day before the scheduled service: A 40% cancellation fee applies. However, you can reschedule the tour for another available date to avoid the fee.
• Day of tour date: A 90% no show fee applies.

We recommend bringing comfortable clothing, suitable footwear for walking or trekking, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a reusable water bottle. For certain activities, specific gear may be provided or recommended, which will be mentioned in your booking confirmation.

Guest safety is a top priority for us. We carry comprehensive public liability insurance through PT Asuransi Allianz Utama Indonesia, policy number DPS01-G-2312-00O0001520. Additionally, all activities are conducted by experienced guides who are familiar with the local terrain and culture.
